Ev0
Bruntwood
Ev0 is more than just a building, it’s a statement. Set to be the first carbon-free building outside of London, it’s coming to Manchester, and we were asked to create some teaser animations to spread the word. The challenge? Promoting a building that doesn’t exist yet. The solution? A slick, forward-thinking promo that’s as innovative as Ev0 itself.
A Vision from Bruntwood
Marketing a new development is one thing. Marketing a building that hasn’t even been built yet? That’s a very different challenge.
When Bruntwood approached us to create a series of teaser animations for Ev0 — their pioneering carbon-free development set to become the first of its kind outside London — there were no completed interiors to film, no sweeping drone shots and no finished architecture to showcase. Instead, there was a bold vision for the future of sustainable workspaces.
Our challenge was to bring that vision to life through animation, creating excitement around a building that, at the time, only existed on paper.
A Symbol of Sustainability
Rather than attempting to recreate the entire building, we focused on what Ev0 represents.
At the heart of the animation sit the three characters that make up the brand name: E, V and 0. Positioned within a rolling green landscape, the letters become sculptural landmarks that immediately communicate the project’s relationship with nature and sustainable design.
Each character was designed with purpose. One is constructed entirely from solar panels, subtly reinforcing Ev0’s commitment to renewable energy and low-carbon innovation. Together, the three forms become more than typography, they become a visual representation of Bruntwood’s ambitions for the future.
Inspired by Nature
We made sure nature was as much a character in the animation as the letters themselves. Butterflies drift through the air, birds soar overhead and long grass moves gently in the breeze as warm sunlight sweeps across the landscape. Every element was carefully considered to reinforce the environmental credentials at the heart of the development.
Rather than relying on technical specifications or architectural jargon, we allowed the setting to communicate the message naturally. Clean, calm and full of life, the animation reflects the kind of future Ev0 is designed to help create.
A Cinematic Reveal
The animation unfolds slowly and deliberately, encouraging viewers to explore each letter individually before revealing the bigger picture.
The camera glides across textures and materials, highlighting the solar-panel construction and the subtle details that bring the scene to life. As the journey continues, it gradually pulls back to reveal the complete Ev0 name stretching across the hillside.
It’s a simple reveal, but an impactful one. What begins as a collection of abstract forms transforms into a confident statement about innovation, sustainability and the future of commercial development.
Building Anticipation
These teaser animations weren’t designed to explain every feature of the building, their purpose was to build intrigue.
By focusing on atmosphere rather than information, we created a campaign that invited audiences to imagine what Ev0 could become. The animations offered a glimpse into the ethos behind the project, generating excitement before construction had even begun.
It’s a reminder that great teaser campaigns don’t need to reveal everything, they simply need to make people want to discover more.
Turning an Idea Into Reality
Projects like this are some of our favourites because they begin with a blank canvas.
Working closely with Bruntwood, we transformed an ambitious concept into a cinematic visual experience that felt tangible long before the development became a reality. Through elegant 3D animation, thoughtful art direction and environmental storytelling, we created content that reflected the innovation behind the project while remaining beautifully simple.
The finished animations capture everything Ev0 hopes to stand for: sustainability, forward-thinking design and a greener future for Manchester. Because before you can build a landmark, you first have to inspire people to believe in it.
