Realiti & Clariti - Explainer Films

Planixs

Planixs came to us with a challenge: they had an incredibly useful product, but explaining exactly what it does isn’t always simple. Our job was to change that. Combining a human presenter, a warm and unexpected setting, and colourful animated visuals, we turned a complex financial product into a clear, engaging film. It worked so well for Realiti that Planixs came back and asked us to do it all again for Clariti.

Complex Product. Simple Brief.

Real-time treasury and liquidity management probably isn’t a phrase you’ll hear thrown around at the dinner table. But for Planixs and the financial institutions they work with, it’s incredibly important.

Planixs provides technology that helps banks and financial institutions monitor, manage and optimise their liquidity in real time. It’s clever technology solving complicated problems.

Our brief was to make it feel anything but complicated.

And three videos later, the best way to explain whether that approach worked is probably to hand over to Adam at Planixs:

“Having worked with Seal Films now on three separate occasions, I 1000% recommend them to anyone looking to produce video content that actually converts into real business. Since launching the first video we created with Seal, numerous prospects have cited it as one of the driving forces behind them getting in touch with us.

The whole team is super easy to work with, they always have the best recommendations for locations, actors, and content. What’s more, they understand our product and target market more than any other agency who we’ve worked with, which is truly rare.I know when I’m onsite with the Seal team that I can trust them to facilitate a final product that our entire business will be excited to watch.”

Putting a Human Face on Fintech

So, how did we approach it?

With a subject this technical, it would have been easy to create something equally technical: lots of software screens, corporate graphics and complicated terminology. We wanted to go in the opposite direction.

At the centre of the film is our presenter, Gina, speaking directly to the viewer and guiding them through the product in plain English. Using an autocue allowed us to get all of the important information across accurately while keeping the delivery natural, conversational and easy to follow.

And at a time when it’s increasingly tempting to default to AI presenters and synthetic voices, we deliberately kept a real person at the heart of the film.

For us, the more complicated the subject, the more valuable that human element becomes. Having somebody physically talking you through it makes the information feel more approachable and gives the audience someone to connect with.

Banking Tech, Without the Corporate Backdrop

We took the same approach when choosing our location.

Rather than putting Gina in a glass office or against a generic corporate background, we hired a characterful stately-home-style location with warm colours, rich wooden details, woodland surroundings and even a fireplace.

It isn’t necessarily the environment you’d immediately associate with banking technology – and that’s exactly why we liked it.

The warmth of the location helped soften a potentially dry subject, while still feeling premium and sophisticated enough for Planixs’ audience.

Carefully considered lighting helped us build on that atmosphere, giving the film a polished finish without losing the relaxed, conversational feel we were after.

Making Information Visual

Of course, there are some things even the best presenter can’t explain with words alone. That’s where animation came in.

Throughout the film, we incorporated colourful motion graphics and animated visual aids to break down key information, illustrate processes and reinforce what Gina was explaining.

Rather than filling the screen with data or asking viewers to absorb complicated terminology, the graphics give the eye something to follow and make individual ideas much easier to digest.

Presenter, animation and script all work together: Gina introduces the idea, the visuals help demonstrate it, and the viewer can move comfortably onto the next point.

It’s essentially explainer video production doing exactly what it should do – explaining.

Realiti First. Then Clariti.

Our first film with Planixs focused on Realiti, their real-time cash and liquidity management platform. And it did its job.

The video performed so well for Planixs and generated enough leads that they came back to us when they wanted to introduce their second product, Clariti.

This gave us the opportunity to build on the visual language we’d already established, creating another film that felt connected to the first while explaining a different proposition.

Clariti focuses on instant payments, helping financial institutions gain live visibility of liquidity, forecast its usage and access reporting and analytics.

Once again, our challenge wasn’t to demonstrate how complicated the technology was. It was to make understanding it feel easy.

Bringing a Little Life to Liquidity

B2B and financial services video production doesn’t have to mean corporate offices, talking heads and endless graphs.

For Planixs, we combined a carefully chosen location, warm cinematography, a human presenter and playful but polished animation to create something that feels accessible without oversimplifying the product itself.

Most importantly, we took the time to understand a complicated proposition before working out how best to communicate it.

Because sometimes the smartest thing you can do with a complicated idea is make it look simple.
