One Port Street Hero Film

Select Property

For Select Property’s One Port Street development, we created a cinematic hero film showcasing luxury city-centre living in the heart of Manchester. Combining beautifully shot interiors, lifestyle scenarios with our cast and sweeping drone footage, we brought the development to life – from morning workouts and poolside downtime to working, relaxing and socialising. A glimpse into life at One Port Street, where the lifestyle is every bit as important as the apartment.

Selling a Lifestyle

When Select Property asked us to create a hero film for One Port Street, the brief wasn’t simply to make a beautiful building look beautiful.

We needed to sell the lifestyle that comes with it.

One Port Street is the flagship development in Select Property’s Prestige Collection, bringing premium apartment living to Manchester’s Northern Quarter. With everything from a swimming pool and state-of-the-art gym to co-working areas, resident lounges and a seventh-floor terrace, this isn’t a development designed around simply having somewhere to live.

Our film needed to show what it might actually feel like to live there.

So rather than creating a traditional property tour, we approached the project more like a lifestyle commercial – using actors, carefully staged scenarios and cinematic property videography to bring the spaces to life.

One Building, One Very Busy Shoot Day

With so much of One Port Street to showcase, the biggest challenge was fitting everything into a single filming day. That meant meticulous planning.

We mapped out our journey through the development in advance, working out which spaces we’d shoot, when we’d need our actors, what they would be doing and – crucially – what they needed to be wearing.

Our cast weren’t simply walking through apartments looking impressed. Throughout the day they became residents actually using the building: working, exercising, swimming, relaxing, socialising and getting ready to enjoy an evening with friends.

That meant plenty of costume changes along the way. Gym gear. Swimwear. Casual outfits. Smarter evening looks.

Each change helped create the impression that we were capturing different moments across a resident’s lifestyle, despite everything actually being filmed within one carefully choreographed production day.

Bringing the Building to Life

Empty property can look impressive, but people give it purpose, so introducing actors allowed us to demonstrate how each space could actually be experienced rather than simply documenting what was there.

The gym became somewhere to work out. The pool became somewhere to switch off. Co-working spaces showed another side of everyday life, while lounges, social areas and the terrace gave us an opportunity to capture the more aspirational side of living at One Port Street.

These little scenarios helped turn individual amenities into part of a much bigger story. Instead of saying, “here’s a pool, here’s a gym, here’s a lounge”, we wanted to show what your morning, afternoon or evening might look like if this was home.

Giving Property Film a Premium Finish

From the beginning, the visual treatment needed to match the positioning of the development. One Port Street takes inspiration from five-star boutique hotels and private members’ clubs, so we wanted our film to have that same sense of polish and exclusivity.

Lighting played a huge role. We carefully shaped each scene to complement the building’s existing interior design, bringing out the rich materials, textures and architectural details while maintaining the atmospheric, high-end feel we wanted throughout.

The final colour grade then tied everything together, giving footage captured across very different spaces a consistent visual language. Warm, rich and cinematic, the finished look helped elevate the film beyond a straightforward property walkthrough and into something much closer to a luxury brand campaign.

From the Details to the Manchester Skyline

While much of the film focuses on the experience inside One Port Street, we also wanted to give the development a sense of scale and place.

Drone cinematography allowed us to step outside and showcase the building within the wider Manchester skyline, establishing its city-centre setting before taking audiences back into the details of life inside.

Combining those larger architectural shots with intimate lifestyle moments gave us the contrast we needed: the scale and impact of the development on one hand, and the personal experience of living there on the other.

For a luxury property film, both are equally important.

More Than a Property Tour

Property marketing has changed. When developments offer pools, gyms, workspaces, terraces and social areas alongside the apartments themselves, simply filming a series of empty rooms doesn’t tell the whole story.

For One Port Street, our job was to translate all of those amenities into a lifestyle audiences could imagine themselves experiencing.

From coordinating actors and outfit changes to carefully planning lighting, drone filming, scenarios and the final colour grade, every production decision worked towards the same goal: making One Port Street feel every bit as premium on screen as it does in person.

The result is a cinematic hero film that doesn’t just show you where you could live, it shows you how you could live there.
